In 2008, Eirik Solheim recorded 30 second video clips of his back yard in Norway every day for an entire year. He then had to align and process each clip to correct for the fisheye distortion and edited it all together, with some smooth transitions between each scene. It is not that I miss Norway, I just want to show some serious work and how we can stay at the same place but still photo - travel for one year.

Aleksander Gamme and Erik Gran Kvaasek are about to cross the world’s largest desert, Sahara. They are two adventurers from Norway who are tandem riding through Sahara not only for adventure but also as a part of an educational project called “Sahara 2010″. “Sahara 2010″ is a six-week interactive learning project in which 1000 students from Hamar are participating. They follow the bike ride every day and they solve tasks given by their teachers, Aleksander and Erik. While I was reading about Sahara 2010 - project, I  remembered that Colin and Julie had similar idea with their Student Corner. In September 2008, Julie and Colin completed a  7000 km journey from the Scotland to the heart of Syria using exclusively human-powered amphibious rowboats. The whole expedition was planned with a corresponding school program, School Rowed Trip, designed to inspire, motivate and teach kids through adventure. What a great idea, or in Margaret Mead’s words: “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed, citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has”. Wishing all good luck to Aleksander and Erik.

Less than 20 women in the world have climbed Earth’s seven highest peaks. Lei Wang is an American citizen now living in Boston but born in China who is currently training for a 2010 expedition to Mt. Everest. If she successfully summits Everest, she’ll become the first Asian-American woman who has until now climbed six of the seven summits (Kilimanjaro, Denali, Elbrus, Aconcagua, Carstensz Pyramid, Vinson and Everest) and skied to both North Pole and South Pole. Once Lei has climbed Everest, she’ll be one of only 10 people to have completed what’s referred to as the “7 + 2” (Seven Summits and the Two Poles). She hopes that her example will especially inspire Chinese People, American immigrants and women around the world to challenge themselves to do something they once considered impossible.Tvi - Tvi - Good - Luck - Lei.
